Steve Bernstein has been playing saxophone since age 14 and has played in a variety of bands since.  His recording career began at age 18 when he recorded an album on Atlantic.  He moved to Austin from Philadelphia in 2000.  He considers himself a “blues” sax player but was initially inspired by jazz artists, specifically John Coltrane. 

He has shared the stage with The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, John Lee Hooker, & Charlie Musslewhite to name just a few.  He has played with W. C. Clark, Tito Puente, Joe Cuba, & It’s a Beautiful Day as well as many others.  He has appeared on several TV shows including The Dinah Shore Show, Mike Douglas, and The Jim Nabors Show. 

Steve also writes original compositions as well as horn arrangements.
